On January 9th, the “Pudong New Area Standardization, Inspection and Testing Agency Landing and Unveiling Ceremony and the First Pearl International Standardization Development Forum” were successfully held in Jinqiao, Pudong. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for Pudong New Area in 2025, with its commitment to leveraging standards and supporting quality to support industrial optimization and upgrading and promote high-quality economic and social development. Wang Yiyang, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Market Supervision Administration, and Lü Xuecheng, Deputy Mayor of Pudong New Area, attended the unveiling ceremony.
At the event, the highly anticipated joint enterprise standard, ” Technical Specifications for Edge Hybrid Networking (EMN) Applications in Intelligent Buildings, ” was officially released. This standard was issued by the Intelligent Lighting and System Interconnection Standard Innovation Consortium, a group led by the Shanghai Pudong Intelligent Lighting Federation and co-founded by five companies: Feifanshi Intelligent Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., Energy Renewal Pte. Ltd., Guangdong Aidiming Electronics Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Jiapu Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhongshan Quchi Electronics Co., Ltd. These companies span the entire intelligent lighting and system interconnection technology chain, encompassing AI algorithms, IoT platforms, intelligent control systems, chips and intelligent modules, light sources and power drivers, sensors, and panels, demonstrating strong technical expertise and industry influence.
This specification focuses on Edge Mixed Networking (EMN) technology, aiming to build a unified operational framework for more intelligent control of IoT devices participating in hybrid networks. It not only enables seamless interconnection of DALI, PLC, and BLE physical layers, but also integrates cutting-edge technologies such as AI self-learning, decentralized self-organizing networks, and cluster intelligent automated adjustment to enhance the intelligence of IoT devices and expand their application scenarios.
In addition, the specification supports a variety of communication protocols and systems, allowing different types of devices to be easily connected to promote innovation and collaboration within the industry and drive technological progress and development in the field of smart buildings.
Chen Weixing, General Manager of Energy Renewal Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, said: “The ‘ Technical Specification for Edge Mixed Networking (EMN) Applications in Intelligent Buildings ‘ integrates technologies such as multi-protocol convergence, AI-enabled management, and automated spatial perception, improving product compatibility and operational efficiency while optimizing user experience. The implementation of this standard will promote energy conservation and emission reduction, help meet the needs of high-efficiency building automation, and foster technological innovation and sustainable development. “
The 2023 release of the “Shanghai Provisions on Promoting Standardization Innovation and Development in Pudong New Area,” China’s first local regulation on standardization innovation, reportedly established a system of joint enterprise standards. In the more than one year since the implementation of the regulation, Pudong has established seven standard innovation consortia and released nine joint enterprise standards in areas such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and low-carbon environmental protection. These standards have played a positive role in meeting industry development needs, connecting collaborative innovation networks, and promoting the integration of “standard chains,” “innovation chains,” and “industrial chains.”
